HOW, WHY,AND WHERE IT ALL BEGAN |

![]() |
The
story of Led Zeppelin began in the London session studios of the early
1960s, and a little later in the decade, in the West Midland’s local
beat group scene, the same
one that spawned Black Sabbath, The Move, Traffic and The Moody Blues.
It was in
these
locations that Jimmy Page,
Robert
Plant, John Paul Jones and John Bonham learnt their craft before, as if
by magic, coming together to form the ultimate rock band; the King of
Kings in the empire of sound. In
The Origin of the Species -
How,
Why and Where It All Began, author
Alan Clayson discovers just that and with
the help of those who were closest to Zeppelin’s future
members
during their early careers, recounts accurately the circumstances that
led to Led Zeppelin becoming a reality. |

| "This history is not for the faint-hearted, but for the dedicated Zep-head. There isn't a better early years narrative than these 288 pages" - Metal Hammer | |
| "The result is startling, not only as an accurate portrayal of Zeppelin, but also as an account of the ambition-packed youth of mid-60s Britain. Clayson is right on the mark" - Record Collector | |
