FOR SUTCH

Screaming Lord Sutch
The apparent suicide of Lord David Sutch in June 1999 put a tragic full- stop to what   was, in its own
terms, a triumphant professional career.    Among many musicians who can claim a tenure with
Sutch's backing group, The Savages, to their credit are guitar icons Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page and
Ritchie Blackmore, and drummers like Keith Moon and John Bonham - while the diverse worlds of
music, drama and literature have been represented by keyboard players Nicky Hopkins,
Paul Nicholas - and Alan Clayson.
